As the name suggests, they have a dark green shell which is often blended with yellow, red or brown streaks. The inside of the shell is iridescent and they have a distinctive green lip. Mature males are a creamy white color and female flesh is an apricot orange.

Greenshell™ mussels are cultivated throughout the pristine waters of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds and Golden Bay where they are grown on mussel farms.
